Six Year Anniversary

It was about this date in 2020 when this wrestling fan really began to expand out as a fan.

Because of the covid pandemic and having to stay inside because of regulations set by the government, pro wrestling was actually a saving grace for me.  AEW and WWE would have televised wrestling shows weekly, but really, the feeling was all of us needed more.

This fan began to purchase a couple of books on wrestling history.  Also, I wanted to know more about sports entertainment outside of North America and Japan.

I began with Europe.  Unfortunately, maybe it was the style of the promotions at the time, but the interest didn't last long.

Mexico was good because I liked the Lucha Libre style a lot.  Also, having several friends in Southeast Asia, this fan began checking out pro wrestling in places like the Philippines and Singapore.  Eventually, by 2022, I started a blog for the region.

About four years later, this blogger wanted to expand again.  South America had been on this blogger's radar for the past several months.

Just before beginning a new chapter, and posting, I received a message from an inspiring wrestler from Peru, J.O.C from GeneraXion Lucha Libre.  Definitely, what was mentioned was an inspiration to do an additional blog.

Lucha Libre en Sudamerica (Pro Wrestling - South America) is a breath of fresh air as was the Southeast Asian blog about four years ago.

Right now, it is a learning process for this fan.  Definitely, there is the history and origin of how the sport began in all the countries that make up a huge continent.  Then, there is sports entertainment with the various promotions that are not only existing, but thriving today.

Like the blog in Southeast Asia, it's not about this blogger, but it's for the promotions, performers (wrestlers / managers / staff) and fans.  It's been a lot of fun so far, not just with posting, but learning more of the culture as well as seeing what Lucha Libre is all about!

Hopefully, after 50+ years of watching something I love, this blog, and what's written, is a way of giving back to everyone who loves it as well.
