A New Home

https://www.facebook.com/reel/1700264430962627

https://www.facebook.com/reel/945826344513835

Over the years of watching Lucha Libre (pro wrestling), this blogger has seen shows both indoors and outdoors.  Outdoors are nice but weather conditions can play a factor in a show.  It was that way in the last outdoor show this blogger saw in Bangkok, Thailand.  The event was delayed about an hour because of the humid conditions in the area.  The show did go on as scheduled with no issues whatsoever.

Anytime a sports franchise dreams of a new home for their sport, it's a dream come true.

The same goes for Lucha Libre in sports entertainment.  3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena is putting the finishing touches of their arena in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.  The promotion is excited that the arena is ready for their upcoming show, SobreViviente on Saturday, April 11th.

Up until now, their shows have been outdoors.  This blogger has never checked but the shows have been well attended.  The promotion does have a roof over everything from the fans to the performers involved.  I know that right now, Santa Cruz de la Sierra does have warm days and at times, there is precipitation.

With an arena, there is definitely more protection for those involved.  Also, being in, what looks like a small business / local neighborhood, being indoors helps with the noise factor.

Being new here to Lucha Libre en South America and the Lucha Libre scene in Bolivia, there has definitely been a lot of hard work and preparation for this day.  Not knowing how long this took, not the planning, a new arena is a dream of every wrestler and staff.  It's their own and no one can take that away from them!  From what this blogger has seen from the two reels that I posted above, and a couple of pics on Facebook, the arena looks awesome!  This blogger cannot wait to visit 3Falls Arena later this year.

Congratulations to those who worked hard in making the dream a reality.  Certainly everyone participating on Saturday, April 11th and beyond cannot wait!

3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena Sobreviviente Update #3

3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena's next show, SobreViviente, will be taking place on Saturday, April 11th.  The venue is the 3Falls Arena in Santa Cruz de la Sierra beginning at 5pm (1700 hours).

The third entrant in Survivor Battle has been announced!  Seth El Guerrero, 3 Falls' Luchador Revelacion del 2025 has secured the spot in the match.

This blogger hasn't seen a lot of video of Seth, but what  has been seen is exciting!  This young athlete has the agility, skill and a lot of determination.  Seth has championship qualities, and is the future of Lucha Libre not only in Bolivia, but all of South America.  It will be interesting how far he will go in this encounter.

In a match such as Survivor Battle, anything can happen.  Over the years in Lucha Libre shows, when the fans least expect it, someone steps up.  Seth could be the one this time.

The show is now in a little less than two weeks.  For tickets, and more information, please visit the 3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena Facebook page.  Thank you.

When The Full Story Is Not Told

Hola a todos!

This blogger has now done Lucha Libre en Sudamerica for two months now.  It has been done with total integrity, without favoritism. and sharing things the way this fan or blogger sees it.

As a fan of close to 60 years now, I'm well aware of things that go on with wrestling promotions, wrestling shows, etc.  For the most part, this blogger gets along well with wrestlers in every promotion that I've covered except one.

I've posted plenty of posts with this one promotion.  They see what is written here as well as on their Facebook messenger.  You wonder if anyone there is reading it.  It appears that someone does.

It's not that I don't get along with this promotion, but the promotion and I don't really communicate.  It's not from a lack of trying, nor is it a language barrier.  Let's just leave it at that.

I'm a little annoyed with one particular wrestling promotion right now in WAR Lucha Libre Ecuador.  The annoyance somewhat hit a fever pitch last night (Saturday) in a stream that I watched on Instagram.  This blogger will go on record in thanking WAR for showing it on their reel.  It appeared they did the whole show.  They didn't have to do it but they wanted to share it with wrestling fans locally and around the world.  At one point, I believe there were 15 people that saw it or a part of it.

The annoyance began with no response from them on Facebook messenger back in 2025 before this blog ever got started.  A positive message in both English and Spanish was posted and didn't get a reply.  This happened several times with the group.

The blogger understands that people are busy with their lives.  However, just two words would make this person feel that they would acknowledge what was written, and that is Thank you or Thanks!

Of all the promotions that I've done in two areas of the world (South America and Southeast Asia), this blogger finds WAR Ecuador rather lazy in their show's approach.  The announcers are good.  The wrestlers are definitely talented and this blogger credits them for that.  However, the referees are too much of the show and not the wrestlers themselves.

I've seen exactly that over four matches in their last two shows.  I have helped out in promoting a show several years ago in another continent.  Though the referee is an integral part of the match, he or she is NOT the match!  Laziness, and what has been pointed out, is the problem.  A wrestling referee has told me himself "that a match is far better off when you don't know the referee is there to call it."

To top this off, a recent reel in a WAR World Title Match clearly does not tell the whole story, and I'm annoyed with that!  The latest reel showed the very end of the match and not what happened before.  If you were someone who saw that, you would have thought the match was one sided.  It was far from that.

The referee, in the match, turned out to be clueless what was going on.  The backup, from the outside didn't help matters either.  It was a total screwup all around and I'm not afraid to share it.  That is telling it the way it is and not throwing in a finish that makes one wrestler look bad!

I've seen other numerous you tube and streaming promotions with all the other promotions.  They are not nearly close to what WAR is doing, not even close.

When doing this blog, I vowed never to criticize a promotion for what they do.  I totally understand what WAR Ecuador was doing in the WAR World Title Match.  However, let's not make the laziness, referees being the story and "not showing the full story on reels" be the norm.  That is what is happening, particularly in the last two shows.  It's cheating the fans who pay their ticket to watch.

I'm certain that WAR's response will be a strong one and maybe they will communicate!

In the meantime, hopefully, this message gets through loud and clear.

3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena - Sobreviviente Update #2

Hola a todos!

3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena's next show, SobreViviente, will be taking place on Saturday, April 11th.  The venue is the 3Falls Arena in Santa Cruz de la Sierra beginning at 5pm (1700 hours).

A few minutes ago, 3Falls has announced the second entrant in the Survivor Battle.  Bam Bam Josh was the first entrant announcement a couple of days ago.

Hopefully, the blogger got this correct.....El Abuelo Chiquitano will make his debut in the event.

I believe we saw a glimpse of this wrestler at the 3Falls Arcade #2 event a couple of weeks ago.  In the match, he was defeated by Nathan Drake, definitely a future champion in the promotion.

That being said, it will be interesting how Rl Abuelo Chiquitano fares in the match.  Survivor Battles are always interesting and unpredictable.

Moving on here, for tickets and more information on the April event, please visit the 3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena Facebook page.  Thank you.

3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena - SobreViviente Update #1

Hello everyone.

3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena's next show, SobreViviente, will be taking place on Saturday, April 11th.  The venue is the 3Falls Arena in Santa Cruz de la Sierra beginning at 5pm (1700 hours).

Earlier today, it's been announced that Bam Bam Josh is the FIRST entrant for the Survivor battle.

Wrestling fans in Santa Cruz de la Sierra are aware that Bam Bam is off to a slow start in 2026.  However, SobreViviente is one of the biggest, if not the biggest show of the year.  Who knows?  A victory in the Survivor battle can be bigger things like a National or World Title shot!

For tickets, and any updated information on the show, please visit the 3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena Facebook page.  Thank you.

Congratulations to Xander Cage

Anytime a wrestler in Lucha Libre competes, there is always the question of the longetivity.

This blogger has been told that an average performer in the industry is generally about 15 years with wrestlers performing into their 50s.

This blogger would like to congratulate 3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena's - Xander Cage on completing 12 years in the squared circle.  In a week where this blogger learned of one wrestler retiring and others may be on the verge, It's important to note that this wrestler is going strong in wrestling shows in Santa Cruz.

Hopefully, Xander doesn't mind this post or mentioning what he's done since his start.

He, along with Ace Poker and a couple of other wrestlers, competed in 3Falls first show, Sacrificio back in 2018.  That speaks volumes since it's been about eight years since the first one.

This blogger doesn't know much about this title, but Xander won the Mucho Peligroso Title at the Luchaniversario IV event in 2022 in a fatal four way match.

A couple of years earlier, in the final show in 2019, Xander won the 3Falls World Title and held it for nearly one year.  He is one of ten title holders, the most current one being Matt Blake.

Congratulations to Xander on the accomplishment in the ring and with the promotion.

Lucha Lider Lidermania XX Update #1

Hello everyone.

In this blogger's short time with the blog, there have been several rivalries amongst the various promotions covered.  Certainly, the one in Lucha Libre Lider in La Paz, Bolivia is really developing.

The apparent match between Percy Callata and Juventud Latina is no exception.  This blogger has followed it since the end of January.  The two are definitely on a collision course heading into Lidermania XX on Sunday, April 12.

Tickets for the show at the Coliseo 12 de Octubre are still available.  Please visit the Lucha Libre Lider Facebook page for more information on tickets.  Thank you.

Gladiadores - Gladiversario 2026 Recap

Hola a todos!

It's been about 72 hours now and the blogger has had a chance to watch all the videos from Saturday's Gladiadores show.  I'm not one to critique a wrestling show, but I thought Gladiversario 2026 was very good.

Watched all the matches on You Tube.  Definitely, there were a couple of surprises and definitely some new storylines.  That is always good for a big show as this one is!

It was great, to this blogger, how the show began with the Intro.  Being new to the Lucha Libre scene in Peru and South America, the feature was very informative, historical and more.  I'm sure the fans who were watching at the Danzak Arena most likely felt the same way.

The fans, am certain, are already looking forward to the next show that will take place in late May.  It will be interesting with the possible matches that may take place.

This blogger is hopeful in taking in a show during the second half of this year when things settle down here where I live.  In the meantime, please be safe everyone!

Ian Muhlig

Hola a todos!

Anytime this blogger on this blog shares a post about a wrestler, it is with dignity and respect.  It's never been about drama but what he sees as a positive in sports entertainment which pro wrestling or Lucha Libre is.

This fan has never seen one of Peru's greats in Ian Muhlig live in a ring.  Yes, I've seen him on You Tube as well as Facebook reels and videos.  One can say that he's one of the best ever to put the boots on and perform for the fans in Lima.

For those not aware, Ian was defeated by Gladiadores Peru's Gran Campeon, Mansilla, last Saturday night at the Danzak Arena in Surquillo (Lima).  Gladiversario MMXXVI was the name of the event and is Gladiadores top show of the year.

The match itself was known as a "Title versus Career" match, very similar to the recent Cena vs. Gunther and Styles vs. Gunther matches in WWE.  This post is not so much about the recent match, but his success in the ring.

Ian, according to Cagematch, was trained by Apocalipsis, Caoz and Kaiser, definitely three great and quality wrestlers themselves.  He began his career in October 2008 and has never looked back.

Over his 17+ years in the squared circle, he wrestled in just over 100 matches.  He won the Maximo and Tag Team titles with his tag team partner, TVK in a former promotion known as Leader Wrestling Association.  It's noted here that Ian and TVK (known as Clase Dinero y Poder) were the first winners of the belts.  They defeated Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli, two very familiar names in pro wrestling history.  The team held the titles for nearly one year and were very active defending it on six occasions.

Looking over all of his matches, this blogger wouldn't know what was his biggest one.  Definitely winning back-to-back Copa Viva Mexico Battle Royals in 2024 and 2025 would definitely be huge.  Battle Royals can bring out the best in any competition and Ian never lacked the confidence there.

A friend of mine in Peru mentioned a bit to me about his beginnings when he spoke to the fans after the match last Saturday.  The fact that he shared anything in an emotional moment spoke volumes.  The fact that his son was there at the show was really cool.  What followed when he was exchanging hugs with his peers was even more emotional, even to someone who never saw him live!

If Ian's final match was one that he accepted, and left on his own terms, that is great.  In the sports and sports entertainment world of ours, that doesn't always happen.  However, those who were in attendance Saturday night will see something they may not see again.

Congratulations Ian on your retirement.

The First Show

Hola a todos!

This blogger is constantly aware of pro wrestling, and in this blog, Lucha Libre and the importance.  The current era of today is every bit as important as how a promotion got its start a few years ago.  At times, this fan gets caught up in upcoming shows and results from shows.  Both are definitely important.  Sometimes, past Lucha Libre events get lost in time.  It's important to try and balance present from past a little bit.

A couple of days ago, I began searching in Facebook on numerous wrestling promotions throughout South America and possible first shows or events.  This blogger began with 3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.  Also, it was important to get the permission by the promotion in getting the okay to post this.  As a blogger, and friend of those in the promotion, this was important.

Though a little over eight years old, 3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena has had some great history.  It appears that their first show, Sacrificio, was on 17 March 2018, so definitely Happy Anniversary to the promotion!

There were five matches that took place in the inaugural show according to a poster on their Facebook page.  Here were the scheduled matches..

Skorpion vs. Aniquilador.

Xander Cage vs. Anarkista.

(Rey) Soberano vs. Negra Tomasa.

(Ace) As Poker vs. Psicopata.

"Asesino" Moura vs. Leo "La Manquina".

Looking at photos from the actual show, it appeared that the ring was located very close to where it is now.  The show definitely what well attended by the fans under partly cloudy conditions.

Four of the wrestlers (Anquilador, Xander Cage, Rey Soberano and Ace Poker) are names that this fan, not only recognized, but have seen on You Tube and Facebook video.  In time, my hope is to learn more about the other six wrestlers not recognized.

It's important on this blog that this show meant a great deal to Lucha Libre in Bolivia.  It was the beginning of something special that is now happening.  Certainly to the recognized names in particular, they, no doubt, have been huge contributors to the current promotion, Bolivia and, perhaps, all of South America.

Congratulations to those who were mentioned in the first show as well as the fans who attended.  And congratulations to the current and future 3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena promotion.  This blogger appreciates past and present Lucha Libre history and hope those reading this will feel likewise.  All the best in the upcoming shows in 2026, beginning with SobreViviente on 11 April.

Gladiadores - Gladiversario MMXXVI Update #7

Argentina Selection Wrestling

Hello everyone.

This blogger is aware about Argentina and their great futbol teams over the many, many years.

This fan came across what appears to be a fairly new promotion in Argentina Selection Wrestling.

The promotion was formed in 2019 and is an active one with their latest show early in March.  The promotion is based out of La Plata, a few kilometers southeast of Buenos Aires, the country capital.

More About The Blogger

Hello everyone.

This blogger grew up in the era known as The Territory Era (please see pic above) watching it for the first time in 1968.  The state of California where I'm from (it's shaded in grey and yellow on the left side), I watched shows for several years in the grey section of the state.

This blogger had no idea until around 1980 that there were this many territories.  Thanks to a magazine, Pro Wrestling Illustrated, it gave me a better sense to what was going on.  Our area would have a United States champion.  For years, I thought the champion would travel throughout the U.S.  Quickly, this fan learned that he or she was the champion in a smaller area.

Also, there are books and videos now out regarding most of the areas in North America who had shows.  The history is enormous.

While doing this blog, this blogger is intrigued with each of the countries with Lucha Libre promotions in South America.  Though I don't have every country yet with at least one wrestling promotion, by the day, this fan is learning more.  The history of each country so far is amazing and it's something this fan will continue learning.  Soon, each South American country will have something written.

Hopefully, this blog is being done in the right, respectful, and most complete way as possible.  This blogger has received enormous help in Bolivia and Peru, and am grately appreciated by it.  Pro Wrestling and Lucha Libre is a part of my life.  What this fan sees through Social Media and in other publications is amazing of how far Lucha Libre has come in such a short time.

Doing this blog is a small way in giving back what pro wrestling has done in my lifetime.  Definitely, I'm looking forward to the day, later this year, in visiting a country or countries.  Certainly, the culture, food, beauty and history is always important.  Definitely, a Lucha Libre event or events is a definite plus!

SobreViviente One Year Ago

When beginning the blog, Lucha Libre en Sudamerica, this blogger didn't realize the importance of how important it is to do a homework assignment.  Certainly, this was the case when first sharing about a wrestling promotion in Bolivia.

To get to know a little more about the promotion, 3Falls Lucha Libre Crucena, I watched one of their videos which was a Battle Royal or Royal Rumble from the 2025 event, SobreViviente.  There would be 20 wrestlers that would battle for the right for a title opportunity in the promotion.

What I didn't know was that this was a part of a major show.  There were also two other matches that were title matches.  One of them was an inter-promotional match for the 3Falls Tag Team Championship.  Also, there were a couple of surprises of wrestlers who weren't currently on the 3Falls roster in the Rumble.

On March 15, 2025, the show SobreViviente was a show that led to a bigger one in Luchanversario7.  For those readers in other parts of the world, SobreViviente to Luchanversario is very similar to WWE's Royal Rumble to Wrestlemania back in the day.

What this blogger realized, as well, is how much talent promotions such as 3Falls Lucha Libre, Jach'a Pacha Pro Wrestling and Lucha Libre Lider have in Bolivia.  Please believe me.....it is rich in talent and is going to get better with younger wrestlers wanting to take part within the groups.

Here is the lineup of matches that took place at the 2025 SobreViviente show.  I'm sure there will be several names left out from the Rumble but will add them soon!

Astro Fenix (c) vs. The Snake Logan for the 3Falls World Title.

Los Kamikazes vs. Klinsman Simotini & Juventud Latina for the 3Falls Tag Team Titles.

The Rumble consisted of Aniquilador, Xander Cage, Judas Inferno, Bam Bam Josh, Dark Hidan, Joe Conley, Matt Blake, Ace Poker, Elking Gemio, Nathan Drake, Violento Luchador, Angel Black.

For those who have not seen last year's Rumble, here is the You Tube link.  The blogger learned a lot from this and it was actually pretty good for a Rumble match!

A Brief History Of Bolivian Lucha Libre

Hola a todos!

Over the next few weeks, this blogger will share some history regarding Lucha Libre amongst countries in South America.

Starting with Bolivia, I found a little information about some of the sport's beginnings.  As this is being posted, there may be wrestlers and wrestling fans that know more.  Please share your thoughts and this blogger will definitely add them here.  I'm always learning here and want to provide everyone with something that is important for all of us.

Here is an article from a blog post written by Nell Haynes back in July 2008.  If you have a chance, please let me know how accurate this is.

The link is below and by clicking, you will go right to the page.  Thanks again everyone!

Six Year Anniversary

It was about this date in 2020 when this wrestling fan really began to expand out as a fan.

Because of the covid pandemic and having to stay inside because of regulations set by the government, pro wrestling was actually a saving grace for me.  AEW and WWE would have televised wrestling shows weekly, but really, the feeling was all of us needed more.

This fan began to purchase a couple of books on wrestling history.  Also, I wanted to know more about sports entertainment outside of North America and Japan.

I began with Europe.  Unfortunately, maybe it was the style of the promotions at the time, but the interest didn't last long.

Mexico was good because I liked the Lucha Libre style a lot.  Also, having several friends in Southeast Asia, this fan began checking out pro wrestling in places like the Philippines and Singapore.  Eventually, by 2022, I started a blog for the region.

About four years later, this blogger wanted to expand again.  South America had been on this blogger's radar for the past several months.

Just before beginning a new chapter, and posting, I received a message from an inspiring wrestler from Peru, J.O.C from GeneraXion Lucha Libre.  Definitely, what was mentioned was an inspiration to do an additional blog.

Lucha Libre en Sudamerica (Pro Wrestling - South America) is a breath of fresh air as was the Southeast Asian blog about four years ago.

Right now, it is a learning process for this fan.  Definitely, there is the history and origin of how the sport began in all the countries that make up a huge continent.  Then, there is sports entertainment with the various promotions that are not only existing, but thriving today.

Like the blog in Southeast Asia, it's not about this blogger, but it's for the promotions, performers (wrestlers / managers / staff) and fans.  It's been a lot of fun so far, not just with posting, but learning more of the culture as well as seeing what Lucha Libre is all about!

Hopefully, after 50+ years of watching something I love, this blog, and what's written, is a way of giving back to everyone who loves it as well.
