Thoughts On Today's Lucha Libre

Hola a todos!

Doing this version of the blog for about a month now, this blogger want to thank everyone who has read a little or numerous posts.

As a fan, I've been fortunate and grateful to have seen and watched (according to A.I) nine different eras of professional wrestling going back to the Territory Era.  You could say it is actually 10 eras total.  There was a lead time to the Territory Era around the late 1940s.

Growing up in The Territory Era in 1968, it was this fan's introduction with pro wrestling with Pat Patterson, Rocky Johnson (The Rock's late father) and Peter Maivia.

Everything changed with seeing Lucha Libre in Los Angeles in the mid - 1970s.  Nothing against the older eras but it was an "eye opener" and a shot in the arm.  There seemed to be a stagnation.  The Lucha Libre style changed everything!

Since then, each era up until now has it's strong points and great talent.  The biggest change that I've seen is that today's wrestlers are stronger, they stay in shape better and seem to be quicker.  Also, safety is paramount with every promotion.  Finally, the equipment is better than before.

This is not a knock against the Territory Era at all.  Being a long time wrestling fan, the assumption is that this fan might be "set in his ways" about things.  What I've learned as a human being over time is how to adapt to things that are going on in the world of ours.  Pro wrestling (Lucha Libre) is no exception.

In closing, I'll do my best to share/provide wrestling fans throughout South America the best blog possible.  Also, please feel free to contact me if something is not correct or needs clarification or adding.  Muchas gracias a todos!
